How do you find inspiration?

I heard inspiration was the super hug for dope thoughts. Rocket fuel for imagination hoping to change stratospheres and launch away from gravitational pull. It’s the WD-40 for stuck minds waiting to release valuable innovative material into a clogged system or environment. The question is though, how do you find this amazing stuff?

Is it in pages or faces? Some people usually find it in other places. Depending on the space, you could find yourself with an abundance of it. But still, what’s the deal about it? Why do some areas have no life or bounce to them? It’s a question I ask myself all the time, because I need the inspiration. It’s a cool breeze on a hot day. It’s the pretty face in a sea of boring and grey. I could be different, but I need it. I can work with out it too, but it’s nice to have some help. Get those good feelings to help you up the hill everyone in a while you know? Are there such things as art endorphins? Oh hell yes.

Teaching is dope, but this whole fourth grade thing might be taking me out. Winter is never nice either. Every April I feel like I’ve come out of a long coma and I have to readjust to life. I have to almost retrain my mind to know life is beautiful and amazing and not stuck in a pile of snow or frozen disappointment. Thank the higher powers for music, writing, curse words, and the beautiful form that brings ecstasy and delight. Is inspiration just another form of hope? Is it a form of lust? Is it a cloud packaged in a feeling and then put onto your favorite t-shirt or hoodie? It’s a ray of sunlight cascading through the shadowy staircase you climb up everyday before your sixth period class.

Inspiration can be a lot of things. I think it’s a mix of desire, hope, and place. It takes you somewhere different in your spirit, causing you to act. It causes you to dream and maybe even quake for a moment in your own skin. It cause beings to become new things, morph into others, and become lovers. it’s quixotic, sometime unexplainable, and yet it means everything sometimes. We all need it. I hope you have access to it. I hope you can find it. Especially in these times. I have learned one thing about inspiration though. It’s kind of like thoughts, water, and skies. it keeps moving and changing into something akin to itself but not the same depending upon the day, moment, environment, and name. Maybe you are inspiration. I hope so.
